Alright guys, here's the REAL update. Sorry about the laziness yesterday :P So we started today at the Beijing Garden Expo, YAY FLOWERS! And on top of all that, we had blue skies. I know that doesn't seem like a big deal, but we haven't seen blue skies in a WHILE, so I often found myself spacing out a bit just looking at the sky. I definitely missed that. So pretty pretty flowery stuff + blue skies = happy morning :) |
After lunch, we went to participate in the Public Viewing Day at CASTIC (China Adolescence Science Technology and Innovation Contest). We got to talk with a few interesting scientists, hung out with some cool science nerds like ourselves, got interviewed by a few news stations, and had a lot, and I mean A LOT of people coming to take pictures of and with us! Shout out to mama Albright: The kids LOVED the pins and bracelets. They were super excited when we handed them the little trinkets :P Love you mommy! |
And finally, we ended this evening off with the CASTIC award ceremony. We mostly just hung out and quietly goofed around the whole time, until we saw some kids from the high schools we visited winning top prizes. That was pretty awesome!! Also, we were called up onstage to receive certificated for our participation in the CASTIC events, super awesome! And, to top it all off, there was a group of students from one of the high schools we visited performing a dance onstage to close the ceremony, to which a few of them ran into the crowd, grabbed the 6 of us, and pulled us up onto the stage to dance with them. Now THAT was a fun time! :) Love you all, Sally |
