We rode up to this thing called the Great Wall today, you may or may not have heard of that ;) We rode up in one of those cool seats you see at ski resorts (sorry, forgot the name haha), and it provided us with a BEAUTIFUL view of the landscape around us. The sky was clearing up, and the mountains seemed endless. Once we reached the top, we arrived at the GREEAAAT WAALLLL. There was only about 30 minutes or so to goon around on the wall, and about 50 pictures later, we were set to go back down the mountain. Not on the cool ski seat, but on toboggans!! It was less than a 10 minute ride down the mountain, but it was super fun :) |
For lunch today, we stopped at a little restaurant called, "The Schoolhouse". This restaurant was actually once a schoolhouse (as the name suggests) that was abandoned for years. The founder refurbished it and turned it into a lovely little cafe :) The food was great, a few of us (me included) even ordered a dish that was called, "The First Lady's Noodles" because Michelle Obama had dined here once before, and that was the dish that she loved best. And let me tell you, I can't argue with Mama Obama on that one, the dish was DELICIOUS! |
After lunch, we visited Qinshua University. As per the normal routine of these school visits, we engaged in a brief conversation about sciencey sciencey blah blah, and then took a tour of the school. What I found very interesting is that groups of passionate students interested in making new products and discoveries can be given an entire work space, sort of like an office, to let their ideas flow and to have opportunities to build and design things. Very cool |
PS: So sorry I didn't post this yesterday. We got back to the hotel pretty late in the evening and so I crashed almost immediately. Love you all, hope I didn't throw you off!. <3
